I need a hug

As the title says.
Uni was going okay, but I’ve just found out who my dissertation supervisor is and I don’t think there’s any point in completing my degree course. I am royally screwed. I was going to try and live with it, try and be mature and put what happened behind me… but right now there is no way in hell I can do that, especially when it’s this important. I wanted to try and get on with him, because it’ll be good practise for later life. It’s going to take a lot of trying.

Have a hug! Lots of em! And, if you can, think to yourself thus: “Fuck anyone who gets in the way of my future. I’m getting my degree no matter what!” Repeat whenever in doubt.
You are right that it won’t be easy, but there are worse things, as you well know.
focus on what you want and learn to go round under and over obstacles and obstructions. But sdon’t be afraid of bustin through adversity: adversity is potentially life-giving. Its the grit in the oyster that causes the oyster to create a pearl!

Trying to progress to the ‘well I’ll beat them and win’ stage of thinking but I think there’ll be many tears along the road, to say the least.

Also belated *hug*. Do you not have a say in who your tutor is? Can you ask to change? I really regret having kept the tutor I was assigned and wish I’d had someone else, but it can be possible to do the dissertation and ignore the tutor completely if needs be xx
